Email received from one Ian Usher TODAY:
"While I believe that the winning bidder is entirely genuine, I understand that they are not not going to be in a position to complete the purchase. I have contacted a couple of the other high bidders, and there is some interest there, but as yet nothing is confirmed"
HELLO
Scam. Fraud. Bull$hit intent.

ATTENTION TO ALL YOU LOSERS CRITICIZING IAN:
Hey all of you out there criticizing Ian's choices and how he went about this whole thing --- if you don't like it, mind your own business and GET YOUR OWN DAMN LIFE!!!! Wow, there's an idea!! No one said you had to like it or agree! So-the-hell-what if he used the media or every public venue available to him, anyone smart enough with goals and ambition would have. Maybe you would and maybe you wouldn't, what's the big fuss? AND for some of you preachy types being "concerned" or "worried" that he is just running away from his problems, stop trying to play Dr. Phil and instead go council someone in real need (runaway, abusive life, etc). NOT EVERYONE needs to spend time on a couch regurgitating their life's woes to a shrink! Some people cope better by DOING! By getting out there and LIVING! He's a grown man, a free man, and this is HIS life, his choices -- let the man be. He didn't kill anyone, didn't hurt anyone, didn't "sell his soul" as some of you pious, 'holier-than-thou' judgmental types are so quick to shout out. Go save a whale or something! All you so quick to judge and criticize: GET SOME PERSPECTIVE -- PLEASE! With SO many other serious issues going on in our world today, THIS is what you decide to put all your energies on and rant and rave, and vent on about what this guy did with his life-choice? What a bunch of worthless, blithering, useless, flacid, incompetent idiots you all must be! You make me sick. Stop wasting your breath and find something worthwhile to invest your time on and maybe you can all use your energy to come up with solutions for real problems out there!!! Go set your own goals and maybe you wouldn't care so much about what ONE guy is doing. That's right, listen up! -- GO GET YOUR OWN DAMN LIFE AND STOP CONCERNING YOURSELVES WITH SOMEONE ELSE'S!!

I think this is an awesome idea! I love it. I plan to check back often on your progress. This is an incredibly brave thing to do, and many many people wouldn't have the strength to do it.

Brave, Couragous. These are words being used to describe this idiot who is having a mid life crisis, bored with being a carpet salesman, watches too much TV and wanting to get instant fame and $$$.
He is a coward to me.
Alot of people have sold all their possessions and started anew. he just did it all at one time and threw in the friends and job as a publicity ploy.
AOL headline says " Mans puts life up for sale"
Of course many thought some j*** was selling himself to be slaughtered so his family would have money or whatever and that is why we clicked on the story.
AOL...you are no better than these tabloids.

You did what others have done only made it public. Of course you had to throw in that friends and job are included so it would be a new twist on an old idea.
It's people like you that end up making a ton of money for basically no needed skills in the real world that contributes to humanity.
Well a sucker is born every minute and I am sure you will be on TV, movie made out of this, etc. I will not be one of those suckers contributing to your wealth.
You are a self centered pity seeking leech. You are by far not considered BRAVE. That's an insult to our soldiers and all others who put their lives at risk to save others.
What a messed up world we are living in now. People calling you brave...HAHAHAHAHAHA

Hello.
A little over a year ago I sold my life for $1000 much less than what I thought it was worth and what the items sold were purchased for. I just wanted everything completely gone and gone yesterday. I've discovered materialist items are just that they don't bring you happiness but love does and this is now what I'm looking for. Without love life can be rather empty. I'm also looking for work and planning for my retirement where ever and what ever that may be - that's my new life. Letting go of everything is hard but a nice lite feeling, I've a lot time, and am now trying to fill the time with activities and new people in search of my retirement.
Sarita.
